This autobiographical novel is delivered in bite-sized titled chapters that takes the reader somewhere most of us have little first-hand knowledge of -- Mid-century rural Cuba, told from the perspective of a gay man. The book is worth reading for that reason alone, but the language is also fresh and evocative and makes you feel what it would have been like to be there.
